The two Fazio Belfair courses have received national recognition and awards, not to mention rave reviews from nearly everyone who has teed it up at Belfair. In 2004, the Belfair courses were ranked #29 (West Course) and #51 (East Course) in Golfweek's list of America's Best Residential Courses.

Since 2000, Belfair has been selected to host the prestigious Players Amateur Tournament that attracts numerous collegiate All-Americans, Walker Cup Team members and other nationally ranked golfers. Among some of the outstanding golfers who have battled it out over the Belfair links are the 2003 British Open Champion, Ben Curtis, who won the inaugural event in 2000 and two time Wake Forest All-American, Bill Haas, who won in 2002.
